I often conduct "Facebook 101" and "201" with clients on the phone, but for your own self-help, I do suggest you take a look at Mashable's guides to Facebook. Check it out!

What skills do you need for online business marketing?Tuesday, February 19th, 2013
I get a lot of newsletters in my inbox and have very little time to review them. But this one, by Chris Garrett, really resonated with me...
I am regularly advising my clients on the ways to best handle their online business: the writing of blogs and articles and newsletters, their social media interactions, their actual "advertising."
Here is a wee bit of the article to get you started, but in fairness, I suggest you hop over to his site to read it all! (That is one of the skills I recommend to my clients for online interaction - be fair, be gracious, send people to OTHER peoples' sites! lol)

So many of my clients struggle with blogging. There are many reasons why bloggers fail, lose heart, lose patience.
I found a good article by Derek Halpern that nails this, so rather than re-invent the wheel, I refer you to him! Thanks Derek! When you click on the link here or below, scroll down for Time Waster 1, 2, and 3! Very good tips.

How to filter all the noise out of Twitter!Wednesday, January 16th, 2013
Found a very helpful article, from Small Biz Survival, entitled, "Filtering Twitter: Going from mostly noise to all conversation." Yes please! It gives great ideas of using Tweetdeck and Hootsuite and filter settings to reduce the amount of NOISE we all see in Twitter all the time: automatic tweets and thank yous, broadcast announcements, and cross-posts from Facebook. It can get hard to find the good things from all the weight of STUFF that pours out every day.

Have fun!

Marketing your book online and offThursday, November 15th, 2012
Many of my clients dive into the hefty job of writing their own book. And what a journey that is! Just when you've finished the actual writing, editing, and proofing the document, then you must tackle the "Do I publish myself or wait for six months just for replies from publishers and agents, if I get one at all?" (Does that question seem just a tiny bit weighted by my opinion?)
THEN, when you've made that decision and navigated the minefields of formatting, book cover graphics and text, etc., then you have to think about MARKETING. But you are pooped.
Take a little break, then dive back in, Read more [...]

With all the endless changes Facebook implements, it is hard to keep up. But there are some newer ways to use Facebook Pages that really do make a difference.
Mashable (love them) offers us some great tips here in the this article. You can create a poll, you can create a featured "likes" list, but I particularly like being able to "pin" a recent post to the top of your page - this can highlight something you want people to see straight away.
